Membership Benefits

1.  Monthly Meetings

     *  Usually held the 3rd Saturday of each month at

        1:30 pm.

         (Check Monhtly Activities to confirm date)

    *  Scheduled talks by area Physicians

    *  Updates on new and available products by appliance

        manufactures.

    *  Round-table discussions with fellow Ostomates to  share

        helpful tips and to counsel fellow members who may have

        Ostomy concerns

    *  Receive updates on insurance and Medicare

    *  Scheduled visits by ET Nurses who can advise members

       on Ostomy site care

2.  Visitor Program

      Our group has a Visitor program that provides help for  

      those facing an Ostomy procedure.    

     With consent of the patient, pre-surgery or post-surgery

     visits can be arranged.  A trained Visitor will meet with the

     patient in the hospital.  This is very helpful because a fellow

     Ostomate can answer questions and ease any fears that the

     patient might have.

     If a member of the support group would like to become a

     Visitor to assist other Ostomates, training classes are held

     throughout the year.

     If you feel you would like to meet with a Visitor concerning

     your Ostomy, please contact our support group.

3.  Supplies

    For those who need help with supplies, surplus supplies are

    collected and distributed to those within the group or to

    others, worldwide, who are in need of them.

4.  Monthly Newsletter

   The Clearwater Ostomy Support Group publishes its own

   monthly newsletter.  It provides members with helpful tips,

   news from other support groups and the UOAA and

   information relating to the group's monthly meetings and

   activities.
